why dont ya try getting used to them first. maybe a friend or a pet shop will have a chile and will let you observe the temperament. oh and by the way handling is not really adviced. the tarantula doesnt benefit from it and sometimes it can even stress them out. tarantulas are really just a display animal.

i agree with the above posts handling isnt really adviced for both you and the spiders safety.

holding them is upto you, they dont gain anything from it is the usual answer back on Arachnofreaks. Equally though, snakes dont gain anything from handling, lol
Anywho, i dont recommend it to beginners because tarantulas are quite fragile, equally if your used to th consequences with snakes, and you dont flip out when it does happen i dont see too much a problem. the spiders still eat, drink, molt breed the same, so wot detrimental effects are ther if done with no mal-intent? sorry to get anal about it once more, its a pethate i spose. iv yet to be bitten, only bite reports iv read, most of which on AB forums its the keepers mistake that caused the spiders reaction, and about 80% of the bites (cept for haplo's it seems) are dry bites with no venom injected.
as said tho, sorry! put it at OCD or something, lol
just dont do anything out fo your abilities, and bare in mind some tarantulas fangs are so strong it can pop straight through your finger nail, so it will hurt mechanically, lol
Just do rush, and just have incubuss with you 4 reassurance for the first while, make sure you read your spiders mood, but understand when they are in unfamiliar territory, the behaviour changes and they loose nearly all defensive intentions.
