Question Moulting mat?

One of my Lasiodora Parahybana has made a sort of hammock between her flower pot hide and the side of her tank. The bottom of this 'hammock' is touching the floor of the substrate. The bit touching the substrate is quite wide actually. She is about 3 inches at the mo and her abdomen is very large, about 5 times the size of her carapace. I have had her for about 2-3 months or so. Se has only eaten about 3 crix, within the first 10 days or so of having her. I have only had slings moult before, one of which was a GBB who made a sort of hammock too, but as GBB's have loads of web, I can't tell if it was the same.

Could this be a moulting mat? If she is about to moult, is she likely to grow much? Mine slings have all grown considerably, but I wondered if her growth would be more as she is a bigger sp. Will her moult take longer than slings?

Thanks guys

Bring on the nervous wait!

i think spiders lay silk web on the floor or somewhere to sit on and molt so it could be ready to molt.

Mmm, thought so. Wonder how long it might take from laying the mat til she actually moults?

I don't know how old she is. She hasn't moulted since I had her. I wouldn't have thought she is very old as I know Para's can get to 10 inches and she's only about 3 inches so....

Nerves and excitement!

Any idea how long it might be before she moults after making the mat? I'm sure the mat wasn't there yesterday. She was by the side of the tank as usual yesterday, but since I've noticed mat, she's just sitting in it!

I've found with my spiders that they tend to moult pretty soon after laying a moult mat, generally within a day or 2.

Good luck for a successful moult. Pics if you can please??
