Thanks very much for the advice.
I want to keep them until atleast their first shed (anyone know roughly how long this will be? - I know that temperatures and food consumed will be the factors here) as I do not just want to sell L1 nymphs that will most likely die in transit - or shortly afterwards if taken by an inexperienced person. Seen boxes of x10 L1 nymphs going for between £2.50-£6.00 on here and eBay. Sounds sad but I feel really responsible for the lil guys

and don't want to send them yet. Probably between 10-20% died in the first 48 hours but I think that this is normal and hope that the majority of the rest will now mature.
If you get an ootheca then it may be a cheap food source for reptiles or amphibians and I must admit I did give a couple to my pygmy chameleons as a treat when they first hatched (as there must have been 150+). However they are a bit of an unpredictable food source.
If anyone would like some then just drop me a pm and i will reserve one/some and arrange to send them when they are past L2. I don't want much for them so just make me an offer of what you feel they are worth and I can send RMSD. In addition I will also make up a care sheet and would advise any new keepers that there are some great custom built tall glass vivs designed for mantids (but make sure they have adequate ventilation that does not allow micro crix or flies out) or a sweet jar is ideal with holes drilled in the lid (make sure the drill is about 1mm or less). I actually customised the jar lids of mine by cutting a hole in the top and then used silicon to stick old net curtain over the hole sealing it completely around the edges.
Cheers Rich
