I was bitten by an H.minax in the wild......
I was working over in Isaan , NE Thailand about 10 years ago and went on a bug hunt. I had been shown how to tease them out of the burrow by using a thin twig, one day I decided to try this on my own and after seeing a likely burrow I knelt down and started fiddling at the burrow like a madman. After about 3 seconds I could feel somethingon the twig, about .5 seconds later this huge Thai Black, the biggest I have seen , even now, was attached to my hand and chomped me a good one.
Before I could react properly, except for a yelp ! , It had disappeared back into the depths of it's lair. The reaction wasn't too bad but I never went T hunting again..
I still keep several types of Haplo's in the UK but always give the top of the burrow a wide birth...lol

I got nailed by a lividum, again down to complete stupidity. I decided after returning home from the pub, that the lividum's tank needed the excess condensation wiping away (duh) she was sat at the top of her burrow and as my hand went in she got it and nailed me twice on the index finger.
I had quite a bad reaction to it. Initially, it felt like electric shocks going through my hand, next morning my wrist and elbow ached, throughout the day the ache spread to all my joints and the wife said my skin had gone a yellowish colour. I felt competely drained of energy, to the extent where I had to stop halfway up the stairs to catch my breath. This lasted the whole day and there was tenderness at the bite site for a couple of days after. Not an experience I would like to repeat

Holy hell, it happened again, this is not one of her good days. This time she actually touched me. Thank god excess amounts of caffeine give you reaction times like a chipmunk on crack.

Aaaaaaaaaaahahahaha!

Just spray half a can of wasp killer in the tank, it tends to quiet them down a bit!

Saying that when i used to use crickets as feeders, i had this tub of them that wouldnt shut the f*** up, so i done just that, have a can of bug killer.... well these things must be genetically modified cos it just acted like water to them, made them wet and then they carried on! Little s***s!!
