The scorplings will molt on the mothers back, than move off for a quick exploration. This is when I remove the young. I have kept smaller groups with the mother but there is always going to be a risk when you do this. Also, they seem to burrow deeper when with their Mom so you never see them, just the occasional molt. Pinkies are not generally recommended for scorpions due to the large amounts of calcium they contain and scorpions don't require calcium ( their exo-skeletons are made up of a beta glucose composition) but a mother who has just popped will probably appreciate a large meal. Just have a good sniff of the enclosure the next few days to be sure there are no remains left, otherwise, you may have to dig the remains out wich will make the mother extremly aggresive, but if you don't, the remains may attract mites. Also, you could pop the rear legs of a large locust and feed this to mother to keep her going.
Good luck with the brood
