Cool good enough?

Hi all, just wondering if this setup is good enough for a scorpion and if so what type? The tank is 30 x 30x 30 cm (12 x12 x 12 inch) has a heat mat on the right side 2 hides and a water dish.
The tank has a bedding of sand mixed with a small amount of vermiculite.
As you can see I also added some fake leaves as well.

Should be fine for a desert species.

Yep sorry, most people use things like plant pots etc. The reason being anything like card or anything paper based at all even cotton wool in dishes is a breeding ground for bacteria. Would be pretty dangerous for anything but especially a deser species as it would hold moisture and might cause mycosis (a killer mold/ fungus) that grows on Scorps now and then.

Change them for those plastic plant pots cut in half and it will be perfect

Could probably do with getting rid of the dish as well, all desert species have pretty much adapted to get all the fluids and moisture they need from the food they eat.

Maybe a mist once a week, no water dish needed though.

Personally i'd always have a water dish in there, even if only a bottle cap... Everything needs 2 drink and if it doesnt then it wont, but wont hurt it to be there.

At a push, yes a bottle cap. But definitely nothing like that, it would raise the humidity and increase the chances of mycosis massively.

A misting is just as good either way. Your choice pal
