Default Emperor Scorpion Babies!

In light of this thread, ages ago:
Emperor Scorpion: preggers?

It turns out she was! Came down this morning to check she ate her food last night, and found two little white scorpions on her back!

I am VERY pleased. Going back this afternoon to see if there is any more. So, care of the babies then?

Keep it humid, and start feeding microcrickets after they come off the mothers back, yes? Do I feed the mother? How long/how many moults till they come off her back?

Thanks for any help!

Wait till all the babies are out, then feed the mother on a large crix (one at a time), but break its legs firt so it can't hurt the babies. Once they are off her back, seperate them from her and rehouse them (either alone or together is fine).

Thanks Lee. How do I know when the babies are out? How many should she be having roughly?

Also, previously, she wouldn't eat crickets, only pre-killed morio worms, is that OK to give her?

I usually feed after a few days after they start giving birth, just to make sure they are all out. They usually have between 15 and 25, but a couple of them usually die, or get eaten by the mother.

Yes, mario worms are fine.

They should be off her back between L2/L3, I'd house em seperately for a while to keep a closer eye on food intake etc.

Feed her pre killed morios like she is used to, try to keep disturbances down to a minimum, she should have between 15 - 20 but first 'litters' can sometimes be smaller.

Just got back and had a little peek, she has 10-15 or so now I reckon climbing all over her, on her belly and back and face! Very very cute

Cool, shall I try tomorrow night then?

OK, cool ta roy. I'm gonna make sure the humidity is as high as I can get it... although she is in a faunarium at the mo.

I will keep an eye out, and seperate them when they come off then, and try a prekilled morio tomoz then?

Aye, I'd try her tomorrow, just put it near her and leave it, remove in the mornin if you can.

Keep the humidity at about 85-90%.

Tape the holes up on the faunarium, but make sure you have enough to keep a good level of ventilation.

Yeh, thats how I normally feed her, and it normally goes by morning.

I might transfer my humidity probe then from the BRB tank to the scorps... currently I have a wet towel over the top of it, and sprayed yday I think... I dont want to disturb her more...
