depends on sp ,
i think in general the ootheca should be suspended in a humid sweet jar or cricket tub or similar.
i hatched a chinese ooth in a sweet jar with a mesh lid & moist tissue in the base.
it was at 75deg ish ,
& it hatched over 270 successfully

It really does depend on the species. Chinese mantids will hatch when and wherever, stick it in the fridge and I still think it'd hatch, real tough species (please don't put it in the fridge though!).

Well, I meant it just to say how hardy they are. I don't want new mantis keepers coming on and the first mantis thread they read has some guy recommending putting them in the fridge

Depends on the temps. Room temp it should hatch in 4-6 weeks. If it is a chinese mantid ooth expect alot of nymphs and I mean alot!
