Default help ive found an ootheca

I just boughgt a matue female ant mantis and there is an ootheca in there, ive put her in her faunarium and ive kept the ootheca in the tub, how do i care for it and how long will it take to hatch and is there a chance it can be infertile?
If it does hatch anyone interested in some ant mantis XD

Unless the mantid is WC then it will more than probably be infertile. Do you know how long she has been adult or any history?

maybe yes maybe no..all depends on if the female was mated..if u need a adult male to mate with her pm me.i have 3 of them.

from the day of laying at 75F ant mantis takes 27-30 days to hatch,.if its a good size your get any thing up to 30 per ooth.when there 1st instar they prefer to eat wingless fruit flys as there about half the size as normal fruit fly.

well tbh the guy in the shop knew nothing about her and said the egg case was in the cricket box when they were delivered but the thing is shes laid another in her faunarium :S
So the last one thats in the box must be quite old right?

All the females usually lay an ooth.

Unless it was mated before you got it, which I doubt, it will be infertile, and only really of use to you as an exhibit.

She may well make more, too, and then, after a few, she will die.

ant mantis lays 1 ooth per week if u feed her enough.i have lots of nympths that im going to be selling soon.

just out of curiosity what did u pay for the female ant mantis?

9.99 from a local shop but it was more a present for my sister cos she loves mantis.

Just in case the ooth is NOT infertile, bud, I would thread it or stick it to the side of a sweetie jar.

Don't leave it lying on the base.
