Greenbottle blue (Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens) are possibly the best and easiest tarantulas to keep.

They grow rapidly and will eat whatever you put in the tank. They like to be kept dry, and normal room temperature suits them well. At first you will need to place a small hide in the tank, but they will quickly fill it with dense silk webbing.

The only downside to this species...if you get a male, they do not live long. You can expect them to die 2 to 6 monthsafter their final moult so get it out to as many available femaes as possible!

Here is my male GBB, in all his glory, just before his final moult.
