Default Sexing a T.

Hi folks,I'm sure this must be a frequently asked question but can anyone tell me how to sex the T's we have in our care.I keep calling them all she's and I'm sure one of them looks at me as if to say who you calling a she lol.

You need to get a moult from the spider then open the abdomen and look between the top pair of booklungs. You're looking for a "flap" or an M shape structure (depends on species what it actually looks like). Any structure u see there means female, nothing indicates male

You can always take pictures of the area and post them up and people can tell you if you're unsure. OR, send them to me if u want and i'll have a go.. love sexing spiders lol Sad..? yea

The only way to sex a T 100% is by a moult. You have to open up the abdomen and look between the book lungs, all sp are different though. If there is nothing there at all, it is likely to be a male. If there is something there, like the pic below, then it is likely to be a female. This is where the females store sperm. Males obv don't need this bit.

T's can also be ventrally sexed by their underside, but it's not accurate!

The moults?? Yea i'll have a look! Will have to wet them and ill bring my lil tweezers How big are they?

they havn't moulted since we have had them but you are more than welcome to get a closer look tommorow but be assured I will not be in the room lol
