AFAIK all or most true spiders have harmful venom, they do lack a delivery system capable of putting it inside us though.

Perhaps if you just came out and asked the question you'd get an answer, no point being all cloak and dagger about it, there are lots of non native species finding a foothold in the UK, it's not a secret and they won't go away if you tell people on forums about them. Also worth bearing in mind that with true spiders there are lots of "lookey likeys"

The speices is Steatoda nobilis, crops up in my part of the world from time to time. A teacher i know reacted to a bite from a woodlouse spider and was of work for two days.

Specially if they are S nobilis, theyr one of the rarer Steatoda in UK

S grossa being more common, generally a lot darker bodied without any markings on the abdomen

I am fairly sure they are nobilis, they are very dark black/brown with a white/cream "Trident" or half moon marking on the abdomen...

will post a pic up if i get the chance.

there is literally hundreds of them here (Isle of Wight)
