Default Recent Fatalities

Hi all

It seems that recently there seems to be a hell of a lot of fatalities in this hobby ( animals not owners ), I know these things happen but there seems to be a much higher percentage than normal

Just a thought I know that we all control the temp / humidity of enclosures, but wondering if the recent high temperatures in the country might have something to do with it , as we all went from mild to sweltering in such a short time... Nothing likes sudden changes !!

Would welcome any comments, seems to be a non related factor in our temperature controlled hobby , or is it ?????

Cheers

Chris

Sudden higher temps probably could have an effect
But these animals also have changes in the country's they come from, so as long as the temp change isnt too big then surely they can cope with it?

I dont know - my house if very cool in the summer and freezing in the winter, so the change was not so sudden.

Tbh, if you keep inverts at 20-25C or so, then the weather we've been having shouldnt trouble them, unless its a problem with the ventilation and cooling of the room you keep them in. I know that my heatmat is off most of the time just now, and the room stays at a nice cool 16-18C.

well, i know my room gets suprisingly warmt throught summer, its unavoidable. By about 5 or 6 inhe evening my room generally gets to about 26c with 65+RH
bloody rediculous basically, io would put the centis deaths to taht but im not totally convinced, i kbnow that centis do not tolerate heat like tarantuals can.
Billy has survivied 2 of my rooms 'summer heats' but fell at the start of this one. ould have been related, i dont know
