Default I like this time of year....

.....the may bugs come out, I recon they are so cool, clumbsy things im not even sure they are designed to fly really, evolution was taking the pi** with these things. This is the first one I seen this year last year they were about a good 3 weeks earlier but we did have a hot april.

Melolontha melolontha I presume

So come back in, change into my pajamas, and start watching a video on my pc and feel something walking up my arm, was a maybug.
Dunno how it stayed on me even though id changed

They are one of the more interesting beetles we get in my opinion, im terrified of them though I dont know why because they're pretty awesome looking, but if I see them flying around it freaks me out :S Im scared of birds aswell mind so that might have something to do with it XD

Beetles are great!

Just wondering, my mum loves maybugs and wanted to keep some.
Is it legal and ok to take them out the wild?
I told her no because its probably not, but im just curious

thats quite a small(ish) one tbh, I have seen some huge maybugs before, and they dont do well in captivity, I just photo them and let them go, I have kept them in the past but they dont seem to live long in captivity, although I fed them right and they were in a big tank.
