Question Shedding or Settled

Hi Guys

Recently bought a Fire Leg T and at the beginning she just constantly mooched about the viv.
Now she spends most of her time in her hide and has begun to spin bits of web and finally ate last week (after much worrying).

Is this a possible sign of moult or do you recon she is just happy now?
Also i dont know if were imagining it but she now seems huge!!!
Her abdomen is massive and she has only eaten one small hopper in 4 weeks!!

Any input appreciated.

How big is she? Some T's fast before a moult, but not all.

If her abdomen is huge, its a sign that she will moult soon, she may web a lot as well and flick some of her 'urticating' hairs off as a last defense before moult.

Good luck with 'possible' moult!

Yey we thought as much. We both just think she has recently become huge and she has quietened down a lot and doesnt come out too much now. She started to spin web last week which she had never done since we had her (about 4 weeks ish) and she just ate. She became quiet and webbed after feeding and became quite skittish.

One of my T's, approx 3 inch, made a mat to moult on, but was the same day. A big abdomen is the sign of a moult, but as she ate not long ago, it might not be soon. My little Red Knee, who was about 1cm at the time, ate 2 days before he molted. My 3 inch T didn't eat for 10 weeks before her moult. They are all different

It's probably done it because it's settled down, most spiders do that, if you think he/she is going to moult usually a bit more warmth helps it happen. Also yes you are correct, it's also a sign of an imminent moult.

Woo hoo i'm excited...my first moult.
The front room is plenty warm, it gets extremely toasty in there so i always put the spids on the floor when i go to work as it is laminate and stays cooler.
I'll keep you all posted!!!

Big abdomen is not a signof a moult. Blimey, my lot are all fat lol And still accept food and are not in pre moult =P

She'll probably seal herself in, drink lots more than normal, and refuse food. Keep an eye out and boost the humidity a bit if she is gonna moult, just overflow the water dish a tad.
