Hi, sadly only after the second night i had lost loads so i put the rest in my crested gecho vivs about 50 in each as i got 3 other sp to house. Their doing ok but sadly some are drowning in the geckos water bowl Their to small at the mo for the geckos to be interested in them as food but if they make it to instar 3 ill seperate them. From what ive read this species needs alot of room to run around in and is easily stressed by others which makes them difficult to rear and by their mortality rate compared to other sp' i have makes them a difficult sp' to keep but then i am a noob with mantids. ps, just got home from the pub

cheers andy and hope you aint got a head-ache after the beers.
i have got to say i have at least 250 all between 10 and 12 days old and all seem in really good condition, very very lively though and eating shed loads of fruit fly.
My girlfriend does not seem too happy though as i have completely filled our bedroom escaped fruitflies along with 2 extra large phasmid cages and 11 vivariums (oops he he he......)
no honestly she also loves stick insects, cant believe i have found such a wonderful woman who has all the intersts i have in life
oh by the way PS: i have had a couple of beers too

Oh my head been suffering all day, roll on next friday night lol.

Its great to have an understanding wife or girlfreind who has an interest in what your doing it makes our hobby so much more enjoyable. And yes, i spend half of the time with the hobby sucking up fruit fies from all over our house. I think if it were roaches i was trying to round up i may just be doing it on my own lol. Anyway best of luck with your chinese.
