Default how'd you act when you got your first T

when you first got your T how did you act or were you fine with it?
I knew I was scared of them slightly, so at the BTS brought myself a juvenile Chilean rose, and a heat mat *didn’t have one before hand* and I was waiting for it to heat up I was watching it fine and dandy hardly moved, perfect I thought, but when I put up the little tub it came in to put it into its new tank it ran to the other side which made me jump and put it back down and just walk away from it for awhile and for 5 mins I was to freaked to pick it back up again, but it is know successfully in it tank all hunky dory, but I didn’t think I would be that skittish around it, I knew I was slightly scared of them but geeesh i felt like a right idiot about being freaked out , thing was i was fine at the show loved it, dumb brain >.<

The wife is more into them than I am, although I like her to have the ones she likes and the ones I know are nice. I often buy her slings for her birthday.

Personally I'm not that keen on anything with more than six legs. I can happily appreciate T's when they're resting, hunting etc but they make me shudder when they move fast.

About a year ago it took me about and hour to pluck up the courage to touch a young Red Knee. It was sitting still. I made a few attempts but bottled it. On my final attempt the damn thing shot off and up the side of the tub.

A perfectly good pair of underwear were ruined that day, I can tell you!

I was overly cautious 0of being bitten, but also was petrified of how i was looking after it, .
Have spend a good number of years researchign them now so that worry is decreased, but still there

Kind of think its human nature to have a certain fear/ respect for these animals !!!!

It is a well documented fact that if a human puts its hand against a pane of glass and a venomous animal strikes, the human will always pull away even knowing the glass will protect them !!!! something deep in our heads somewhere, probably next to the part that says men cant iron and women cant understand the offside rule...

Just a thought

Cheers

Chris

Petrified of it lol

Still kinda wary around a couple, but I've improved so much since getting them.

I was petrified as well and seeing it on the side of the tank was very unnerving. I've got 2 now with another coming on Tuesday
