Id personally go for a curly hair, that was my first T. They dont particularly interest me anymore though, if i had to get one, id go for a baboon or a lasiodora-good fun but dont touch!

I'd say a Curly Hair as Chileans often bite for no real reason, and they are less enthusiastic when you watch them hunt. Curly Hairs are friendly and are great to watch at feeding time. Plus they grow quickly and get to a decent size so you don't feel short changed.

I personally think that these two, out of my spiders, are the best starter species because they're both pretty easy to look after, pretty docile & really interesting to watch
Scratch that, Mary just tried to kill me.

I personally would go with a nicer looking Chile species such as a Chile Beauty (Euathlus Truculentus) or Chile Flame (Euathlus sp. "Red"). I have both Chile Beauty and Chile Flame and they are like little puppies. They always wonder out onto my hand and walk about.

Here is a picture of a Chile Flame:

Hope this helps,
