Default Is she dead?

Hi there.

I just received my first Brachypelma Smithi from Alex on here. Absolute pleasure to deal with, however I am very worried as I think she may be dead

She has not moved since arriving, and when trying very gently to coax her into her home, there was still no response. I tried covering her box with a dark shirt, in case she may be in shock. There appears to still be no response or movement though.

How do I know if she's alive? I know it sounds like a silly question, but i'm a bit gutted

How is she sitting? When tarantulas die they curl their legs underneath their body.

If shes only just arrived its possible shes just cold.

She's currently sat in a normal position, with no legs curled under. However, 1 leg at the front is lapping over the other

she might be cold, they tend not to want to move when cold. if she was dead her legs would all be curled under. she could be about to shed? although im not too sure. if she goes on her back do not go near her.
can you get a pic of the way she's sitting?

She only moulted on Saturday. I'll nip down the road as quick as I can, and pick up my camera.

Sounds like shes just cold, she should be more active when she warms up.

if she also only just moulted on sat then they tend to be not as active while waiting to toughen up again so as not to injure themselves
