I have an emperor scorpion. It's my first and only one, there the ones that people recommend for first scorpions.
Price wise i think you can get adults for around £12 and IMO i think they do make good pets. Mines great to watch

Emps tend to sit under a rock all day though, they also require a bit of humidity. I'd recommend a desert hairy, they are far more active.

Most of the ones easily available are good starters. Ones from a cooler climate are even better as you might not need a heat source for them. as scorp shouldnt be handled and if there kept in an escape proof container you shouldnt have a problem keeping any scorp TBH.

I see your from Telford too

I got two Desert Hairy Scorpions and they're my first. Had them about a month.
Not hard to look after at all. I did post some pictures on here before.
I have a juvi and an adult (Pregnant Hopefully). I use lamps for heat during the day (86-88F) and have a heat mat on the side of one of my tanks to keep a constant temp at night (80F ish) , lower than what the lamps give obviously.

My younger one is very active. But the female adult hardly comes out.
Might be because of pregnancy, not sure.

To be fair these are more expensive than emps but far better to watch.

Between the two I prefer the Emperor, then again I like the colouration of the Emperor. You could consider a Flat Rock Scorpion if neither of the previous tickle your fancy.
