They are actually quite nice as spiders go hehehe The male was certianly gorgeous on the eye - purple is my fave colour The females have also got a plum tone to thier bum (is that the bum haha) yes?

So the pic of the female in moult is a mat? And then a thicker one of them with their leg hairs? is made for the eggs and then she turns them into a webby hairy football to let them grow?

Think I am getting this whole spider thing a little bit - pat on the back for me for looking at spider pics without cringing or itching
Hehe, youl be suprised.. most arachnophobes dont mind tarantulas,.. theyr cute and fluffy:P

In fact we have a couple of arachnophobes with tarantuals on this site if i remember correct. The hair isnt the leg hair, its on the bum.. which is covered in irittating hairs, just for some info.
These are really harmless looking, big but simply not all that spidery, lol
liike compared to this anywho, lol

Cam put up your pic of your blondi moulting mat covered in U hairs!

The females lay a thick matt of web on which to deposit the eggs and sperm, then they web over the top of it and roll it up in a ball. The hairs are put on it as a defence for the babies
