Sorry for sounding a bit dumb but are these the ones with the lovely purple colouring to them? If they are these are lovely looking and i wouldnt mind one in my collection
![]() Fingers crossed for you anyway. I know nowt about breeding T's so is it common for the male to get chewed after the business is done? I've seen it mentioned a few times on various documentaries but not sure if its common practice for all spids.

Glad you liked her, they are fantastic.. very confident, but clumbsy
![]() sometimes i disturb Athena simply by walking through the door, and she bolts for cover, only to walk right over her burrow enterance and then she scrambles up the 'cliff' face at the back in panic..its all loose soil so she just gets nowhere. lol Shes fine as long as shes in her hide though. Fortunately, shes dug right up to the glass at the back and i can clearly see her and her movements as light penetrates through the silk wall to the surface. interesting stuff. The male tarantula, if done under supervision should survive about 80%+ i would guess, depends on the species really. C crawshayi, its about 90%+ likelyhood the male will get munched. Some african species only seem to produce a sac when the male is munched. Most new worlds are pretty uncomplicated when compared. Mine were quite tolerant of each other, female underground, male above ground. i watched them the first 3hours and saw no interest from either.. I left them whilst i did other stuff in the room. fell asleep, and the following day i found nothing but a pedipalp and not much more. (The percentage figures are estimates really)
