Yo all, just wanted to show, and CHECK that my incubator is fit for purpose really.

Any advice would be great


A few thigns that might concern me... if i implement humidity into this tub, would te 'now dry' toilet paper in the oouter box harvest bacteria and stuff

The material is silk, its a bit coarse.. it catches scraggy skin you dont realise is there when you brush along it with your finger..is the spiderlings claws goin to be caught?
The tub is for T blondi, the lip unde3r the lid is not taht raised from the lid, T blondi are nearly 2cm when slings so would i be better with a deeper lid?

Under lid there has been placed a pliable length of soft materail which, when pushed under the lip of the lid holds the silk tort, but pushes it downso the lid is over2cm taller.. is this an unneccessary inconvenience and is it likely to cause issues with the slings?

I might re design it if its problematic

Would it be better to deisng one suing a cricket box, and a waxworm pot cut and placed n the lid of the criket pot? its going to be deeper but its just whether its better

Looks fine Cam mate. Make sure the lid is pushed firmly on. You don't need tissue in the bottom tub, just leave it as it is.
Depth doesn't matter as such, and if nymphs start falling off then just scoop them back up.
For mine i use a tub with a thicker lid, generally a bigger tub. And i use some mesh that i bought off of Ebay. When are you planning to pull it Cam? I could send you some mesh if you would rather? Just shove some in an envelope, i got plenty! It's worth buying tbh, i got it off Ebay for mantids but for the incubator it works perfectly too.
Make sure the vermiculite is wet, as once the sacs on it you don't wanna have to wet it again. How ventilated have you got the lid of the outer tub?

Oh also, you want the material on the incubator pulled REALLY tight so that it can't bow once the sac contents are on it.

Defiantely Bex.. im crapping it now.. i plan to pull the sac by about wednesday. I want it away from Abusive for the last part of it.
I jsut dont want any sling deaths to be becuase of the setup..would be a real shame.
The mesh would be aweseom, if you wouldnt mind that would be aweseom.. im really not keen on the silk.. if you want il trade ya, some mesh for a sling or two, either pampho or blondi IF i get em good.
Yeh the vermi in the bottom of the tub is nice and soaked, the outer box currently doesnt have any ventilation, i was planning on putting a fair amount in, im wodnering if i should do the holes on the lid, near the lid, or at the bottom of the sides. Im wondering about which would be better in regards to the humditiy and temperature.

I just drilled holes in the lid of mine, small holes in a 5 or 6 rows.

It also has a habistat mat stat set at 27-28c with probe positioned through inner box under the material.
will be getting Athenas sac off her tomorrow, o dear! lol
