I guess you have to know your hermies so well you know when they are about to molt.


So how many of you keep land hermits here?

I have 3 hermit crabs - mine are really boring they come out about twice a week for a soak and some food then bury themselves again! I've tried more heat, less heat, different tank, different food, spraying them etc and still no change!

2 Guinea Pigs (Fudge & Tigger)
2 Fire Bellied Newts
2 Albino Frogs


Oh and 3 kids - which make much more mess than all of the pets above!!

crabbysticks where do you have your Crabitat? is it in a busy area of the house?

I had to move mine because the movment from the tv and walking between the tank and the light, they did nothing but hide, i moved them and now their out most of the night, climbing, digging, bathing etc.

Hehehehe they look cool i love the way they go feeling around a shell thats lying there making sure its not better than the home they got

I used to keep hermits LOL funny calling them hermits when they love to socialize .......i shall have to see if i still got pictures of them

I didnt have them for long about 6months ....my circumstances changed where we moved to a smaller house and i had to re-home most of my rep collection ....... anyway heres some pics

i had a look at some of these in a local tropical fish store. at first glance the tank looks empty. they dont look that interesting. my local pets at home still have hermits (they did last week) but not land ones.
