Vase i'm so sorry to hear that, its always a danger, you really should pop any new hermits into an isolation tank first let them get over pet shop stress, also the stress can make them go into a forced early molt.

You need to have quite a lot of extra shells in your tank, plus when they've been in a pet shop they may of been stuck with no other shells to change into other then to kill for them, takes them a while to realize they don't need to do that anymore.

I'll seperate anymore that I buy. The quarantine thing foolishly never occured to me
There's about 10 shells in there of all different shapes and sizes. Cant work out who the victim was as two shells that were used yesterday are now vacant.

No it didn't with me first time we added some new ones, we were lucky but it was only a week since we'd added the first lots, but our new 8 we have, will stay in their own tank, i'm not risking them in with the 18 i've had for a year.
Its so new keeping them in the UK, thats why we set up the website and support forum, just to try and give folk in the UK somewhere to find or get information, as most sites are based in the US.

My land hermit forum has made a deal with livefoodsbypost, for all posting members a 10% discount on all Land Hermit Crabs ordered from them.
So if you want or need any hermits thats the place to be.
