Talking Fire Leg Flipped!!

Hi guys

I got home last night to find my blokeys Fire Leg flipped on its back, his immediate thought was oh no its dead, i said it might just be moulting and left it to it. Sure enough an hour or so later we had a much bigger, much fluffier spider and i'm pretty sure it may be a male.

He totally destroyed his moult so cant sex it but he has a dinky abdomen and long skinny legs. I'd say he's prob about 3.5 inches now at least!!

Go Zippo go!!

All freshly moulted spiders will be leggy and have a small abdomen

Congrats on a successful moult

Ah right. We were worried that she/he'd popped it...lol.
Well the skin was shed then sat on for a while and destroyed so we cant sex it.

Is it just twisted? Wet it and then use tweezers to untwist the abdomen

It not there anymore, either shes eaten it or just torn it to bits. She did sit on it for 2 days and dragged it about a bit. She looks so fluffy now she's gorge. Were leaving her for a while to harden up, how long until we can lift her out for pics? She's pretty calm and just poses but obviously i dont wanna hurt her if she has just moulted!

Why not jst take the lid off and get pics of her in her enclosure?

Leave her a week to harden up.

Yeah i dont want to disturb her yet. Gonna leave her to chill she hasnt moved around much yet. Do i need to spray or anything if she has just shed? She has a water bowl and humidity is fine still.

We'd like to get a pic of her on our hand to kind of gauge how much she has grown when we first got her we had a pic of her on a gardening glove. She just looks massive!
