You can handle them but its never advised. They tend to flick urticating hairs which itch like a bitch

It doesn't get just in your eyes. Any part of your skin can react to it and you itch for days!!

But for both yours and the spiders benefit, handling isn't advised.

Thought I don't have personal experience with the Brachypelma emilia, the Brachypelma smithi (Red Knee) is very easy to keep and is generally very easy to handle although all spiders can have 'off-days' and not be very obliging. There's no real time margin for handling but obviously be prepared to put the spider away at any time so as not to cause any harm should anything happen or start to become likely.

I have to say i love my smithi to bits. If you want a nice docile spid then go 4 this 1 it is worth it. They are also beautiful to look at you wont be disappointed. Iv had mine almost 2 weeks and she was my 1st T and i dont regret not gettin another species at all. Also she is easy to keep and wont have your hand off when you go in the tank. As with every animal every spid is diff and has diff temperments and habits.

you missed off that list, Chromatapelma Cyaneopubescens (greenbottle blue). not so common, but I think its the best bigginer species.

Very hardy, STUNNING colours, great webs, not aggressive and eats like a hungry man at free buffet!!
