Default Mantis abdomen!

Help!!!

My african green mantis has had a huge abdomen for a while now. She bred with a male, she ate him and then she laid a sack, which never developed into young. Since then she has been on her own and constantly laying egg sacks. Her abdomen is huge and seems to have a slight discharge on one side. Found her on the floor of her viv toady and hadnt eaten food yesterday. Picked her up and put her back on the branch. Seems happier there and when I offered her a cricket she wolfed it down. Can i do anything about the swollen abdomen? Seems to have a normal appetite. Am i over feeding her but what could be the explanation about the constant egg sack laying? Does she need to be mated again?
Im not sure about her age but has full adlt skins now. Has had one shed since being with me, she was vivid green initally but is now a pale green/grey with brown on underside and on legs.

Any help will be appreciated

Ta very much

Rusty

All adult female mantids lay ootheca's through the whole of their adult life, whether they're mated or not.
She won't shed again now she's adult. If she's spending more time on the floor it could be thats she's getting old and is on her way out ... Mantids don't live very long i'm afraid.

Try feeding her a bit less if you don't want her to have a big abdomen, but it's very natural for adult female mantids to eat a lots.
