Question How likely are they to bite?

Hi guys

I dont currently handle my spiders really. I've never held them with bare hands and i just want to know how likely are they to bite and do they show any tell tale signs that they are going to bite?
I have a fire leg, a green bottle blue and an avic purpurea.
Theyre all pretty calm, ive never seen them rear up and the last 2 are tiny slings.

Thanks
Vicky

Some might, some might not.
Basically, if you are going to handle then you need to know for absolute certain that if the T did bite you would wouldn't just freak out and shake your hand/throw it away, because then you will have one dead T.

Hmmm...i see your point. I dont think i'd freak out, i've stood with a Royal hanging from my finger before now, i'm just bothered about the venom etc, how do you know you are going to react to it unless it bites you and then its a bit late.
I do want to be able to hold them it makes moving them around, cleaning them etc easier and i've never held a t in my life as i was afraid of them.

I handle all mine, including the pokies and one of the h.macs
You need to know the temperament of each spider on a personal level, and go very slow
for example, i can handle my subfusca, but i wouldnt dare handle my albopilosa, it would rip my arm off
The Ts you have, have got very mild venom, so even if you were allergic, it wouldnt be very bad. If however, you want to handle the more venomous species such as pokies, you may be off work for a couple of months if you get bitten bad.

Yeah i know Pokies have potent venom for a t, i'd just love to conquer that fear of having a spider on my hand. i love them through glass and dont mind when i have gloves on but on skin its different.

Not that I want to encourage handling or anything but the feel of tarantula feet on skin is lovely, they have very soft velvety feet
