i wouldnt use moist wood shavings tho, it would probably get ridden with bacteria and bad stuff.
i personally hold my A tesselata in a moist coir substrate, they burrow alot and it helps then through molts. Iv found damp substrate to be better for them.
As youv mentioned the guy you got them off did have success with the wood shavings so im only sharing how i keep them rather than promoting a better way

Eww, lol dont know if that would work with the peppers, theyr burrowers so probably need it. in my experience they do loads better with moisture. I tried a dry enclosure and lost about 8 or 9 of mine easily..not a prob theyr very prolific, iv still got about 40 from 4:P and theyr about to drop soon

do they only breed when full adults with wings? well so far mine are on dry sawdust but i spray the sides every night so the edges get a little wet and it keeps it humid. i have about 4-5 which are very big i think 1stage away from adults. unless u have any adults goin spare

well i probably will when theyv dropped! i want to keep the offspring for food purposes

Theyr fascinating things but yeh bit like marmite tho...i love it!

You can tell mature adults apart, males have a plush and neat wing desing, females have two bulges with the underwings hanging out from the back
yeh, they only breed once they have wings.
NB, the legs will draw blood if they scag you, dont hold them too tight and youd b fine, lol
