Default fighting spiders

i watched a programe today on samuri fighting spiders at first i thought it might have been one of those " ho my god how can people do such a thing" but it was really good and interesting IMP.The japaneise have been doin it for centuries and they make sure the spiders dont get harmed, they take care of them from what i saw very well, not something i would do my self but i have hever seen anything like it before. did anyone else see it? it was on NAT GEO WILD and if so what is your opinion ? I thought it was very interesting, not just the fighting but the spiders them selves where amazing there webs where stuning. it would be nice to hear you opinions as spider keepers ( i myself do not keep spiders) if you saw it.

i hate nat geo, all their documentarys are is animals in displays being eaten by other animals..idiots!
one dvd i=on tarantulas i ahve has about 4 anoles die, as well as multiple spiders.. wahts the point in having a dvd about tarantulas if your only going to kill them. should have called it 'tarantulas needlessly killing and being killed'

havent seen the spiders your talking about tho. Probably been defanged so they cant harm each other, not any otherways i can think of. IF it is, more great viewing from those lovely fallaces at nat geo

Really?

Tell that to the dogs that are rescued here from BRITISH dog fighting rings.

Same mindset, but dogfighting is even more appalling.

Asian culture is particularily lacking in compassion for animals IMO.

Doesnt mean it doesnt happen here, but for some reason it seems more common in parts of Asia.

Ya, but Becky said ONLY the 'Japs', which implies one nation, or one race is exclusive to these kinds of behaviours.

Besides, whenever these ethical debates surface, I often wonder how many unethical things people partake in, in other ways, every day..?

I am sure you could think of ten things that we commonly do that involve someone or something being exploited, mistreated, or whatever...
