how do mealworms turn into beetles?

keep em nice and warm, they will pupate, which means they change into a creepy white alien looking thing, will stay like that for about 2 weeks then will start wriggling out of its skin and its a little beetle which is sort of white with red head, it will go black over next 2 days or so.
