Well, I used to keep tarantulas a few years ago when I was younger. I only had 4 then. I had a few years away from the hobby, and got back into it last September when my friend picked me up a GBB from Hamm......

Default thanks for the welcome

Thank you for the welcome
i have always loved spiders but the otha half is an anachriphobic he made me promise to keep a lock on front of the viv
when he came home today he went is this it! OMG its huge ( about 3 1/2inch) eucgh!! its ugly, i said yeah well its prob thinking the same looking at u right now lol.
neways my theory being i was frightend of em til i was in the army and they made us handle them and face our fears it worked. and last year i bought my first snake he did not like them and said it too had to stay under padlock and never be in the living room needless to say allayia my corn is frequently in the living room and he does not bat an eye lid any more so i am hopeing he acclimatisies to the "T" teenagers of the house hold think its great as its a new addition to our "mini zoo"
thanks again i look forward to browsing the forums and picking up tips

Love it !!

He will get used to them. If you put it in the livingroom, your OH would catch it out the corner of his eye everytime it moved but after time he wouldn't even notice.

Default herp tank

i have ozzy's viv sitting right on top of my beardie tank in the livingroom, u cant miss it just in the corner out of direct sunlight lol at the minute i am keeping the spray bottle beside my chair to chase away nosey kids.
ozz has sat in the middle of the viv since i put him there 4 hours ago, all he has done is flex his legs in and out, i chucked in a locust he made a dash for it grabbed it then went straight back to the middle of the viv to the delight of the teen watching it.
i never realised there is so many diff species and morphs but i have been warned no more tanks are to appear,ha!!!!!!!! we will see lol

Ok miss-attitude, I have a plan for you.....

you say to your husband "As nice as my chile rose is he is one of the less active spiders, wouldn't it be nice to get an a more active spider??????"

then you buy a Acanthoscurria Geniculata (brazillian white knee)! In my experience they are very active. Also, they grow up to 8/9"

Then you say "wouldn't it be nice to have an arboreal species......" and so on and so on!!!
