Talking got my ooths.. yeah =)

hey all got my ooths today for narrow winged, chinese and european mantis. This is the first time i have done anything like this so im somewhat nervous and im hoping i don't mess up.

I would be mega gratefull if I can get advice off some peeps that have got some expiereance with these species.

they are very easy to hatch but there is a very high death rate with all them species as nymphs

i was thinking of getting a small heat lamp untill they go bigger is that a good idea??

hi ya, you dont need a heat light at all, just thread some cotton through a small bit of the ooth case and hang it from a twig in a large sweetie jar.
make sure there are plenty of twigs they can hang off!!!
after hatching make sure you spray through the mesh a fine spray of water as they like to have a drink almost immidiately after hatching.
after a day or 2 feed on micro crickets and fruit fly

I have these species but the Chinese ones all died off on me at the minute I've ant mantids 12 or so again some died for some unknown reason .

make sure you have a shit load of frute flys ready..if i was u i would make up 3 for all them ooths.,

chinese mantids..remember your get a big death rate after a few days no matter what you do.

are u misting enough..ant mantids drink massive amounts of water..your need to mist the ant mantids every single day with out fail.

do i treat them all the same as far as spraying goes, chinese narrow winged and european. i hear they all do well at room temp. and im gona use nylon tights at the top of the containers.

Personally although i know others will disagree id let the mantids eat each other until you have 1/3rd of what you started with. The ones still alive are survivors and will be tougher than the rest.

yeah that might work, i take it thats why you have none.
