i can think of no good reason why they would delete your threads, especially without telling you why. seems mighty childish to me. its not as if youre linking to some pyramid scheme or anything, its a relevant resource.

It's clearly competition and they don't want you stealing users so perfectly understandable.

Its a good forum, I have joined, its totally different to this forum as it is very specialised.

Yeah it is but I don't really use the other mantid forum and if shep hadn't of posted on here i wouldn't know about the UK one.

For me personally there is no competition between RFUK and the uk mantid one as I use them for different things.

The mantid forum is a bit more specialised. i can only get general advice about those invert on RFUK.

competition? i thought people set up forums as places to share information and experience and to help people (in which case another outlet for this for this should be welcomed and encouraged), not to make money or to have the most traffic or users to inflate their own egos. they get no money or revenue or anything from the number of users they attract, so i dont see what the problem is. its pretty baffling childish behaviour on the part of the mods who deleted your threads.

if shep or andie were saying "stop paying money to subscribe to this forum, come and pay money to subscribe to ours as its better" then i would understand their position. as it stands its pretty ridiculous.
