Default Worried about falling

I moved both my adult t's into their new tank yesterday and my mexi keeps climbing the glass and falling, ive watched her do it 3 or 4 times now and im worried shes going to hurt herself as she falls onto bark chippings. Is their any reson she feels the need to scale the side of her tank or anyway of stopping her doing it? She just isnt learning and its a good 12 inch drop Thanks, will

If you have changed the substrate and are using coco coir as a substrate it might still be to damp for the tarantulas and they will climb the glass to keep off of it until it dries out.

I have had this happen with my redknees & chile roses.

If you are using bark chippings alone i have found that most of my tarantulas do not like walking on it.

AHH yes!!! That will explain why my chilean hasn't moved from her log!! Im just using soil as substrate...i know..When i got her she was in a tiny glass tank and the soil was absolutely saturated with water and she constantly was scaling the walls!! Thanks very much apprieciate it! Well i suppose there is nothing i can do at the moment as the soil will dry out over a small amount of time..

i would use cocomulch, and just raise the ground level a bit so its less impact if he falls.
Dry coir works well.
Chilean rose come from the Attacama desert in North Chile.
The reason they dont like wet ground is because of their natural habitat. Some parts of the Attacama desert havent had rain in over 400years. They will always try to find dry

Mine do it when I have just sprayed them, they find it hard to climb on the wet sides. I put my substrait level higher so it's not such a big drop if they fall.
