If its on its back it is moulting so do not disturb it as this process can take from 1 to 6 hours to complete.

When tarantulas die they curl there legs under themself in an upright position.

You will find that about 95% of tarantulas will start the moult on there back and then change position towards the end to free there legs.

About 5% of tarantulas moult in a standing position but this is not the normal way.

Regarding the time issue it varies from moult to moult but you often find they stay still for hours and then all of a sudden they seem to be out of there old skin.

Has she finished her moult yet? It's amazing how much bigget they look after a moult. Make sure there is no food in her tank and don't feed her for about a week after the moult as the cricket/locust or what ever you feed her on can cause damage due to the spider being fragile after a moult.
