Default Get me over my fear please.

Hi, Well I am just wondering if anyone who lives near me would be willing to try and get me over my Aracnaphobia.
I remamber as a child picking up spiders but I dont know what happend as it got so bad at one point I could not even touch the page of a PICTURE of a spider.
I am fine with Crickets/worms/grubs/bugs/beetles........so I am not just a big scardey.....the only other thing I have been phobic about is mushrooms...I used to think they were alive .....like with little legs and things (this was when i was a kid I might add). I now cook them for my family but still wont eat them........uggghhhh

It is something I really want to get over I am facinated by spiders and can live with them on the walls now but if they are moving about I get really scared I generally avoid them getting on me EVER butv if one does .....well I freak.
I reckon I could get over it but I need some one with spiders to help me see how silly it is!!!!!

TBh, iv always found british spiders more freaky than tarantuals and things...
I would just look after some house spiders or something for a while.
Theyr incredibly interesting, and easy to keep.
It will never be a quick change in your opinion, and itl be sometihng that develops over time.. I admire your will to conquer the fear tho,

I agree with C strike! Try catching a house spider and keeping him in a small pot! Kepp looking at him and reminding yourtself that he is no harm to you!!

Thanks for your replys.
tbh I think yea I could hold a T with a little encouragement but then get home and a little house spider would run across the floor and I would scream!

How would you keep a house spider? There is one in my bathroom window and I have left it, it has grown and I seen it shed...I think it is an orb spider.

A 2 litre bottle with the top cut off is what i used for my house spider! Obv with something across the top, perhaps some old tights and a elastic band!

Well yes i suppose so, i only kept mine for a day or two at the most as i was only a kid at the time. If you wanted to keep it for longer id suggest a tank and other nessecities but another member will probably be able to inform you better!
