What species would you recommend as large non-burrowing tarantulas?

Im just looking for a big display T!

Lasiodora parahybana
Salmon pink birdeater, they get to about 10 inches and will sit on full veiw most of the time, mine will only go under its hide when it is coming up for a moult, There will be others but this is my favourite.
Heres mine a few months back

and a couple of weeks ago

I would also say salmon pink.. the goliath is of course bigger but to be honest it's not exactly a friendly spider. Salmon pinks are usually not that nasty, none of mine have been nasty anyway. We have a 7" female in at the moment, she doesn't like to be picked up or anything but you can still get in the tank and clean out and change water without it being a fight for your life... whereas my last goliath would rear up, hiss, and pounce on anything that moved, including tweezers when I was trying to lift out the debris.. getting him into his new tank was a nightmare. Was a male though and didn't live that long once he was fully mature.

Mexican Red Knees are also not exactly small, and are a beautiful looking spider and also very docile... I don't think much beats them for display and if you can get hold of a mature female, they may not be the biggest T around but still have quite a size on them.

I have to admit to being a Theraphosa spp. addict.
I would recommend a goliath due to the fact of their nature. They have such lightning quick reflexes, huge size, the power of a strike from one of these is incredible, big, hard impact, with big hard fangs, lol
Its not as if your really going to be picking them up are you? ol
I wouldnt recommend picking either up tbh, but both are very similar in temperment. they will go for food, and movement but once outside their environment the whole disposition changes and they become more tolerant.
They are both really confident, but goliaths are much more so than l parahybana.
I have to say, out of all of my 50+ tarantula collection, my goiaths and pinkfoot goliaths are my fav, even when compared to my cyriopagopus, poecilotheria, i would even rate them above my latest, expensive buy Monocentropus balfouri.
Even i have issues when needing to pick my big goliath up.. shes a darlign lol

>>EDIT<< you cant go wrong with either though
