may i ask what sort of region you live in and i might be able to tell you my first thoughts of what it looks like its probably very wrong lol to me at first glace it looks very much like a baby Gorgyrella species but one being in that sort of environment would be extremely uncommon so i wouldn't expect it actually being a species like that

To me it looks like some sort of jumping spider, have you captured it?

Hi
Thanks for the replys. I live in the UK, Dorset. The spider was barely alive when I first saw it but its legs were moving slightly, by the time I went downstairs to fetch my camera and back up again it had died. So yes it was pretty dead by the time I tookt he picture!

I have sent the pic off to an expert at Bristol zoo and hopefully will get an answer. Maybe it could have been a normal house spider that had mated with something else. I know I dont want to see another one in my house.

From first glance that looks like a woodlice spider but not 100% as its kind of blurred but if it had huge long fangs it will have been a woodlice spider, they like to live in damp dark areas. Pretty much where the food is.
