Default Lividum mating

I have a nice lividum mature female (DCF) and acquired a mature male yesterday. He has been mature for about 8 weeks according to his previous owner. He mated with their female about a week ago. I have placed him in a shallow container near the female and it seems she is already aware of his presence. I have used the search engine on this and countless arachind forums but seem to find conflicting info.
I read that some people get a male in the post and pop him into the female's lair the same day. Others wait a while, for sperm webs and such.
As this will be my first such experience and I intend to do it as well as possible I would like to hear from those of you have tried with Hapopelma's and would be interested in your valued opinions of when I should let him at her ?

Cheers

Phil

i havent ever waited for sperm webs, i just pop it in with the female and leave them for a while. Just keep something on side to seperate them if you need to, i no someone who had three of his females killed by his male whilst trying to mate.

You're better off waiting for the male to make another sperm web though imo. That way you know he is charged and he can go in, do his job and get out! lol Personally i wouldn't risk leaving him in there, take him out if they don't mate and try again in a few days or a week or so. Keep trying til u get a successful insertion.

When did your female last moult?

O i never meant leave the male in with the female for a day or so, i only meant step back and leave them to it for a while, i,e 15-20 mins. Dont keep pushing them together is what i meant by leave them to it. It took about 30 mins for my chillis to get into it a few months back.
