Default Chile Rose - prior to shedding

Hi

My Chile Rose shed her skin for the first time whilst with me, on Saturday.
She managed it OK and everything looked fine.

Since, she has just sat under her plant pot, looking, TBH, a bit sorry for herself. I have not distrurbed her at all, as I didn't want to make matters worse.

She is alive as I have seen her move, but just wondered is this normal?

I have done research on the net and understand it takes a lot out of them to moult, so maybe she is just recovering?
Is it also ok for her to be sat over the heat mat? I have turned the thermostat down on it, just to be safe.

Thanks

Andrea

Edit - Main title should say post shedding! Durr.

Yep she`s just recovering from the moult i would say . The bigger the spider the longer they take to recover , and dont even think about feeding her for at least a week because she wont be interested !!

Dont worry

Thanks Neil.

Yeah I know about not offering her crickets, as her fangs need to harden up, plus her appetite will be low.

She isn't huge, about 3 1/2 inch leg span.

Red face

Once they are out , they are over the worst !!

I lost my adult female T blondi last week , she died in her skin through exhaustion . She was injured in the post , lost a leg and damaged her abdomen too , so she wasnt very strong when she went to moult !

Aaaaw that's a shame. Sorry for your loss. I losy my last Chile, a few weeks ago, mid moult too. It's always sad, even if they are "just" spiders.
