Default Dealing with spider phobia...Chile Rose questions

I was told by someone that about 1 in 1000 Chile Rose Tara's are aggressive...is this true?

Plus, would this be a good tarantula to handle without it shooting hairs out at me? Do they get scared and shoot their hairs easily?

I wouldnt like to give a precise statistic like 1/1000 because I truthfully dont know, I cant really see how anyone would be able to get a statistic like that.

In the most part they are very calm and placid, and dont tend to flick hairs unless they are handled too often, they are certainly a good spider to get over your fear being slow moving and placid, I wouldnt recomend holding them very often for the simple fact that they get no enjoyment from it and are easily hurt.

Im not a spider expert but i certainly share your fear of eight legged monsters!
Just had a Skeleton t delivered, bought for my friend as a present. I had to set up its housing and then remove it from the plastic container it arrived in. Having read about the species it was deemed as an aggressive T. I found it totally the opposite, very slow and calm. Obviously this may have been due to it possibly being disorientated, i dont know.
One thing is for sure, im now starting to become more fascinated by T's, something i thought would never happen

Best way to get over a phobia is to own the animal. Ive done it with snakes and now instead of being scared of them, im more respectul of them while still being a wee bit scared :P

Only thing i couldent do it with would be a giant centipede because they turn me into a blubbering mess.

I have an adult chile that I bought as an adult and she has never been aggressive at all. She never flicks or anything.

My red knee, however.....
