Default what do u reckon?

my 12 year old brother wants a tarantula and ive sugested 2 him a chille rose or mexican black (but ive heard these are very hard to come across) he likes both of these but wants something with a bit of colour about it. what would you recommend?

By mexican black im assuming you mean a Brachypelma schroderi? They are not hard to come by, not as often seen as most brachys I had one but have moved it on since to someone else who wanted one. Best putting a wanted ad on the BTS bulletin board. As for chile rose they are easier to get than any other spider. Though if he wants something colourful that is suitable i would suggest a Grammostola Aureostriata (Chacoan Gold Knee tarantula)

Most brachys flick hair but I have had red knees and hardly flicks hair my B bohemei however flicks like mad when annoyed

wicked, thanks 4 the help, yeah it was a brachy-schroederi i ment. ill show him sum pics of those gold knee's (is its latin name Orphnaecus pellitus?)

Most Brachypelma, Grammastola are considered a decent choice as theyr calm and generally docile and quite slow...but still colourful (Brachypelma moreso)
