Default Chili not eating

Hi
my mate got an adult chili about 2 weeks ago and he has offered it food, at the moment there is still 3 locusts in there!

The locusts were offered about 3 days after he got her, and she has still not eaten and its been just over a week now.

We have changed her into a smaller viv to see, and so far nothing yet

is there anything that may be the reason?

I will admit, I know nothing about spiders, never kept them, but from what I can tell, she is on the correct type of substrate, humidity is high like its meant to, and she has a heat mat giving an air temp of info I got from here, cant remember what it was, I just got the info and set it up for him.
So, I followed all instructions on a care sheet for him to get the set up, she has hides, etc. but still nothing

Any ideas?

right its not uncommon for a chilean rose to not eat for months on end 6-7 months isnt even uncommon, I definately wouldnt be worrying 2 weeks is nothing, keep offering once a week, if its not eaten in 24 hours take it out and try again.

Another thing could be a possible upcoming shed.

Chile's dont like it too wet, what is the humidity?
Its common for adult chile not to eat, my male went 8 months after his mature moult without eating.
I wouldn't worry just yet, a couple of weeks is nothing really.

Cool, I will let him know

I will only use crickets if really needed, cant stand them things!!! Thats why I use locusts instead as they cant escape as easy, and dont make a noise or smell!

I would say she was an adult, she is just smaller than the average hand size (About 9cm or so from side to side) so I am not sure if she has fully grown or not so not sure about the chances of it being that she is coming up for a shed

Dunno about humidity, he sprays the tank everytime he feels that the substrate is bone dry

thanks for the info people, I will pass it all onto him, hopefully it will let him relax more

Its just she was his 1st pet, so he is a bit "oh my god, what to do" with her, but she is a great animal, he handles her and she is not skittish, although not the sort of thing I would do lol! I dont even handle my emperors!

in the wild they live in the deserts of northern Chile, the moisture they get in the wild comes from food as it hardly ever rains, a water dish is all they need.

But I dont recon thats the reason shes not eating, could just be one of those strange chillean rose things

No, i never thought that could be why it would stop eating, I just noticed it and thought i'd offer a general piece of husbandry advice.
With a chile there could be numerous or no reasons for it not to eat, thats just the way they are.
