Default Thinking of getting a spider...

well, to start off with, i'll open with "i'm scared of spiders"

yep, scared of them yet looking over these pages has made me want one =P

i've got plenty of fish tanks which i presume would suffice as an enclosure, currently have 3 in my room and a 6ft tank out the back in use, but we've got a spare tank which is approx 2.5 feet long, 1 foot wide and 2 foot high.

now i'm after literally ANY advice, from what to have in the tank (dirt/sand/heating/lighting/rocks/plants etc), to how to care for them, and most importantly, how you can look after them without getting too close to them!

i'm in australia, so i don't know what sorts are available down here, i'll also be talking to people at the shop (presuming i find one) about specific types

thanks,
Rob

Best thing to do is find out what T's are available in your area, then see which one(s) you are interested in as T's have their own specific care requirments and temprements. Once you find this out, read lots of caresheets about them and ask about them on here, then you can get more (and better) info off the people ho have kept them in captivity for a good period of time. Keep in mind that some T's are not for beginers due to venom potency, aggression, care requirments ect ect.
