im thinking of getting a fairly large tarantula. i beliveve these are the 3rd largest? has any1 had any experience with Salmon Pinks? from what ive read they r semi aggresive, the aggresion doesnt bother me because i will not be handling it. wot is the best substrate 2 use with these?

They're great to keep and eat just about anything smaller than it.
I keep mine on earth and peat. Mine also has a log cave and small water dish.
I hope i'm helpful,

Great T's to keep, but watch out for their uticating hairs, they are very itchy.

Mine is fantastic, it will tolerate being moved gently with a brush for cleaning and hardly ever gets into strike position.
As said they eat virtually anything and grow fast, I got mine as a 5cm sling, now at roughly 8 months old its near 6 inches.
I keep mine on potting compost but make sure it has no insecticides or anything else in it, substrate is about 15-20 cm deep with a cave type hide but it hardly ever uses it, a few fake plants and a small water bowl for any T over 3 inches.
As an adult I will be keeping mine in a large exo-terra terrarium which i believe is 60x45x45 cm.
They are great T's and IMO one of the best large ones because they are fairly calm and like to be on display and not hide away as much as other T's
