ok i think my chile rose as lost its marbles. its dancing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any ideas why?

is it adult? sounds to me like you could possibly have a mature male, they drum their feet which could be seen as dancing, is that what its like??

not sure if its mature, it was my cousins who said it was female, it aint molted whilst ive had it so i cant check but yer it was druming its feet into the substrate, but really fast then moving back and forth. looked real wierd

dont males have hooks on there 2 feet??? what wud be the easist way to see them?

you can see in the pic the hooks, you should also note the swollen appearance of the end of the pedipals, these contain the male emboli, thats another thing to distinguish mature male from Adult/ sub adult females, as well as sub adult males.

isnt it only males that drum??

im pretty sure the male instigates the copulation but species dependant im pretty sure they both drum. TBH i havent experienced any drumming with the matings iv done so i cant go by personal experience
