Default I dont believe I did it!

I went to Shropshire Exotics today to get some crix and have the usual look around. I got talking to the guy who owns the shop, who is going to probe some snakes for me, and mentioned my arachnophobia and the fact that myself and my daughter were thinking about getting a T. He got out a chile male and I actually held it! The strange thing was, it wasnt scary at all. He was so cute (the spider I mean - the guy is way too young for me!). Trouble is, I may now have to get one - it was really cool. Dont know if I could handle a house spider though. What is the difference, apart from size, which makes T's brilliant and house spiders still scary?

I'm the same too. We have a Chilean Rose and a Mexican Red Knee. I've held both. But I'm the first out the door if I spot a house spider!

i think the fear of house spiders is the not knowing. you never know were they are but with t's there in a tub if that makes any sense at all. i myself am terrified of spiders not sure about t's but ive heard its the best way to start to cure arachnophobia (spelling sorry)

I used to be terrified of all spiders until I started learning about Ts from various sites like this one. Now I'm going to get one of my own. Though I'm not exactly scared of house spiders I still won't touch one because I wouldn't know what it was. In England I know it's highly unlikely to be a venemous one but you really can't tell. The other night I removed one from my mother's room (it was dangling from the ceiling RIGHT above her pillow ) but I used a cup to scoop it up then chucked it out the window.

I'd rather handle my birdeater than find a house spider on my pillow.
