Red face Another quick smithi question

If you've read my other thread you will know I'm doing an assignment on the breeding biology of Brachypelma smithi of which my knowledge is limited to what I have read.

I know that succesful breeding can result in 100's and 100's of slings. But I can't seem to find any info on the best way to house them after they 'emerge' from the egg sac. Are they housed together or seperatley or put into smaller groups??

Any info would be excellent

Thanks in advance

people usually use camera film pots or something similarly small and cheap to house them seperately.

I feed my slings every day or two, if they stop eating I leave it 5 - 7 days and see if they have moulted. Go get some camera cases from boots or max spielmans (spelling).

Having bred them before you can certainly get a large amount.

As the others have said individually housed is best ( or you tend to end up with one fat one over a period of time )

Small camera film pots, clear plastic pots that a number of the tarantula supplers sell ( often a bit bit expensive ), have seen cherry pots etc used

Have seen people house them 2 or 3 at a time but only really to cut down on numbers when the trade was flooded with them, not entirely ethical in my opinion, there is certainly not as many about now.

Pots contain all sorts of substrate, vermiculite, peat, toilet paper ( moist )
